Jay Tausig is a Northern California vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer who has called Nevada City home since 1998. A prolific independent artist, he has released more than 60 albums of original music and has contributed to numerous collaborations, compilations, and tribute recordings since the early 1990s. Drawing inspiration from progressive rock, folk, jazz, and singer-songwriter traditions, Tausig is known for his inventive arrangements and command of guitar, cello, keyboards, synthesizers, and vocals. He performs regularly throughout Northern California as both a solo artist and with a variety of ensembles, including Souvenirs, the Dan Fogelberg tribute band, where he plays lead guitar, cello, synthesizers, and vocals. His extensive catalog of original music reflects a lifelong passion for composition, recording, and musical exploration.
