Feel the Soul of Americana — BuckStar Returns to the Stage at Nevada Theatre on January 17
Get ready for an unforgettable night of roots-driven Americana as BuckStar brings their signature blend of country, rock and R&B to the historic Nevada Theatre.
Formed in 2015, BuckStar is a dynamic ensemble featuring brothers Tom and Eric Menig, married couple Jenn Knapp and Rob Kopp, and Larry Tracy. The band has built a reputation across California — from festivals to theaters — with three full-length albums under their belt and a loyal following of fans.
Joining BuckStar for this concert will be vocalist/songwriter (and family member) China Rose Kopp.
At the heart of BuckStar’s sound are the deeply personal and evocative original songs of Alleghany-born Jenn Knapp. She began writing music in the wake of a close friend’s death, teaching herself guitar on an instrument passed down from her grandfather. Together with drummer Rob Kopp, her earlier group evolved through years of regional recognition as the Cheatin’ Buzzies — a band with three albums and a “pretty substantial body of work.”
The current BuckStar lineup saw much of its recording at guitarist Tom Menig’s own Silver Maple Studio, where Menig contributed both guitar and pedal steel, helping shape the band’s warm, rootsy, and soulful sound.
BuckStar members are also active beyond this project: Kopp and the Menig brothers regularly perform with the popular West Coast tribute band The Deadbeats, offering yet another testament to their musicianship and broad appeal.
Their upcoming Nevada Theatre show promises a musical journey: evocative lyrics, tight rhythms, heartfelt melodies — and all the live energy that comes from a band with over a decade of shared passion and performance.
