It was 36 years ago that Haute Trash performed their infamous “8-8-88’ show at the Nevada Theatre. And so it is with great pleasure that they return to their home base, with an all-new show ~ “WASTED: A Haute Trash Experience”. In celebration, they share a rich history of extraordinary runway trash fashion, welcoming designers from around the country. You won’t want to miss this one. With a splash of theatre and dance, it’s so much more than just a runway fashion show!

Haute Trash, an artform that is both ironic and joyful, is a social commentary satire. Designers examine the wastefulness of American culture and present the potential for recycling everyday throwaway items into one-of-a-kind fashions.

Haute Trash will invite you to take a look at what your trash can holds!

Cynicism about the value of waste we collectively produce has not necessarily led to improvements in our lives, our relationships, our communities or our world. It instead leaves many feeling disillusioned and disappointed, powerless to make change. No more! We have gained the power to create a world in which more consumer items are designed to be waste free, with much attention on climate change and all that entails. No longer should we allow the burgeoning glut of consumerism to shape our futures! Together we can continue with vision and opportunity because, after all, a wasted opportunity is just that – WASTED.
