Dolli Melaine is a singer/songwriter and performance artist. She is originally from Grass Valley and has been on a creative exploration her entire life in Europe and America. Dolli grew up in her mother; Nelda’s Dance School and in the 60’s her father had a popular store on Mill St. Grass Valley, called Honey’s Record Store & Fountain. Dolli has created a life very much influenced by both of her parent’s independent spirits.
She has been writing and performing songs written with Viennese Electronic Music Composers. including award winning artist Markus Kienzl (Sofa Surfers) as well as Manni Montana, Stefan Tielsch and Wolfgang Wenka. She has songs on several albums and a few films, as well as, her own compilation album called “SACRED”. The style’s range from trip hop to drum & bass. Dolli performs her original songs in an eclectic, dynamic and theatrical style, often compared to Laurie Anderson. As a songwriter Dolli found a life of deep introspection and curiosity, always looking for new modern futuristic sounds and a big desire to explore the world. In this special show she will share with you a full spectrum of many years of her adventurous spirit through these songs and images.
Dolli has been doing performance art productions for the past few years in Europe with Mia Legenstein. Dolli Melaine is also a highly regarded voice coach and developed her own unique technique to open the voice. She is also an author, and a painter.
Mia Legenstein is a sound composer, DJ, conceptual artist, social-critical art projects and sound designer, currently based in Vienna. In her conceptual art projects she is using a wide variety of media including video and installations, often collaborative with other artists. As a sound designer, live-composer, vocal performance artist & DJ she has performed on stage with international shows in Austria, Belgrade, London, Australia, Washington, Slovenia, Germany and Fashion Week Paris. www.sieclelibre.at

For “The Eclectic Electric Musical Experience” Mia opens the show with experimental electronic music textures along with visuals by Katalin Mesterhazy (Vienna) The performance is an ongoing flow into Dolli Melaine performing and singing her songs as Mia Legenstein creates a textured soundscape and does live remixes. Belle Star and Aubrey Lee Puetz will be performing interpretive dance and vocals. Steffen Snell weaves in and out of the songs with his bad ass spoken word. Adam Verhasselt will be doing live visuals, epic and hypnotic, that he designed to go with the music.

Originally from Grass Valley, Dolli grew up dancing in her mother, Nelda’s Dance School and listening to the latest songs at her father’s shop, “Honey’s Fountain & Record Store”, in downtown Grass Valley. Dolli is also a master voice coach, teaching in Europe and America. She is the author of “Voice Opening: Find Your Real Voice” and “How to take a Healthy Breath” as well as a portrait painter.

Mia Legenstein
Mia Legenstein. Sound composer, DJ, conceptual artist, social-critical art projects, sound design, cosmopolite currently based in Vienna.
As a composer and performer of improvised, electroacoustic and experimental music Mia concentrates on elements of the voice, pure natural sounds and their manipulation. Her style is open to all kinds of cultural and musical influences. In her conceptual art projects she is using a wide variety of media including video and installations, often collaborative with other artists. As a sound designer, live-composer, vocal performance artist & DJ she has performed on stage with international shows in f. ex. Belgrade, London, Australia, Washington, Slovenia, Germany and at the Fashion Week Paris.
Mia Legenstein graduated with a Masters-degree in Musicology from University Vienna and studied at the Sorbonne-Université de Paris IV. She gained a certificate of Electronic Music Producer from the SAE Institute Vienna and has classical training in traverse flute, drums and harmony. Mia participated in many workshops at the Vienna Poetry Academy with renowned teachers, such as, Anne Waldman (US), among others. For many years she has worked with master voice coach, Dolli Melaine (US).
